One question this month was in relation to insurance. As we are in the same situation at the moment it was easy to answer.

The issue was a subscriber who has a motorhome they are building. The motorhome is now worth a lot more than the purchase price and therefore a lot more than the current insurance cover. They were happy with a valuation from a reputable valuer and they suggested most motorhome dealers would have someone with the appropriate skills. They then gave me a list of who they had on record for our area on the Gold Coast. I quickly organised a valuation with a local company for $55.00. Lumleys then accepted this valuation and immediately insured the motorhome at an increased value. There was of course, a small increase in premium. The increased premium is a small price to pay for peace of mind that our asset is now adequately covered for any mishap.
